Talks with DIC and ZimTrade look promising.

GROWERS in Zimbabwe are looking to increase exports to Dubai and the rest of United Arab Emirates following strengthened support from the Dubai International Chamber (DIC) and ZimTrade.

Zimbabwe has a well-established history of potato cultivation. The main potato growing period is from late July to early August after the last frost. The current situation is a big step forward to two years ago when potato production in Zimbabwe was plunging, with farmers citing lack of financial support from government, drought and economic challenges, according to All Africa.

Growers currently hope engagements with the DIC will make it easy to export their products into the Middle East economy.
