NOMINATIONS for the 2021 NPIA Agronomist of the Year are being sought.

Whether self-employed or an employee, you can put yourself forward or nominate an agronomist you feel deserves recognition.

Any agronomist felt to have made a notable contribution to potato production through their work, or a collaboration, is eligible for the award.

Warners Group Publications, which organises the award, wants to hear about anything that has made a difference to crop quality, efficiency or business performance, or helped with research into growing methods and practices.

Judges are keen to hear from anyone, from any sector of the potato growth and supply industry, about why they feel their nominee should receive recognition.

Last year's winner, Dr Mark Stalham, is well known throughout the industry. He has 35 years' extensive experience in potato research and knowledge exchange, and had developed and managed key industry and research relationships with AHDB, industry partners, universities, CUPGRA and potato farmers in the UK and elsewhere in the world.

Nominations for the 2021 Agronomist Award can be made online at or email Juliet Loiselle if you require guidance on what kind of qualities and information the judges will be looking for, and how to put together an entry - [email protected].
