Potato shortage on the way for NZ?

PROLONGED wet weather means a potato shortage is on the horizon for New Zealand, in contrast to the previous year. 

The weather has prevented growers from entering fields with harvesting equipment.

Last year saw the island increase its production of fruit and vegetables by 23%, with potatoes forming a large part of that, and crisps contributing 11% to grocery shops, according to Supermarket News.
