Peru exports growing rapidly

PERU is rapidly surpassing Chile as the largest South American exporter of fresh potatoes, carrots and other vegetables and fruit. 

Its exports have grown from less than a million tons in 2011 to 2.25 million in the past year, around 20% more than in 2019. Meanwhile Chile's peaked at 3.17 million tons in 2018 and declined slightly in 2020 to 2.91 million tons.
