PCN trap crops trial entering second year

WITH the loss of Vydate, the Innovative Farmers' trap crop field lab has decided to continue into a second year. Four growers will focus on the effect of nutrition and seed priming on trap crop development. Measurements will include emergence counts, ground cover assessments, photographic & drone records, and PCN counts at one site with particularly high PCN (Potato Cyst Nematode) pressure.

If successful, this field lab will help gather evidence to support the inclusion of trap crops as a public good in ELMs.
