Irish sales up 24%

IRISH potato sales were up 24% ahead of National Potato Day, the annual celebration organised by Irish food board, Bord Bia.

This year Bord Bia teamed up with GAA Stars, Mayo’s Sarah Rowe and Dublin’s Sinead Goldrick, to promote potatoes as fuel for optimum sports performance for the promotional day on October 2nd. Bord Bia also created a range of recipe videos highlighting kitchen skills that allowed people to expand their potato recipe repertoire.

Bord Bia is an Irish semi state Agency whose remit is to market and promote Ireland’s food, drink and horticulture industry in Ireland and abroad.
