€5 million is spent by potato growers on fungicides annually in Ireland to mitigate the impacts of blight.

THE Irish National Meteorological Service, Met Éireann, extended an advisory for potato blight for the entire country.

The advisory was issued last Friday (August 4th) and extended to today (August 11th).

According to Teagasc, the state agency providing research, advisory and education in agriculture, horticulture, food and rural development in Ireland, around €5 million is spent by potato growers on fungicides annually in Ireland to mitigate the impacts of blight.
