Awards organisers praise the team who give up their time voluntarily, while inviting further grower nominations.
The National Potato Industry Awards, whose winners are announced on the first night of the British Potato Show, are renowned for supporting and celebrating all those in the British potato supply chain, and organisers have reminded us that, without the support of a team of independent judges who volunteer their time to evaluate and score the entries, this would not be possible.
Following the last date for entries on September 20th, the judges will be reviewing the entries across all 10 categories, submitted from all over the UK by individuals, companies, project leaders and more. They will then come together mid-October to deliberate the entries in person before whittling down the shortlist, which will be announced in the November issue of Potato Review and on its website.
The awards are free to enter and organisers are particularly keen to see more British growers and growing managers entered for the first category. If you work with a grower who you think deserves a nomination, or represent a company that grows any variety of potatoes, please fill in a nomination form and tell us why you think they deserve to be rewarded. The deadline closes on Wednesday, September 20th.
From the shortlist, three category finalists will be announced and the judges will select the ultimate winners. These will be announced at the awards presentation evening at the Old Swan, Harrogate, on November 22nd. You can book a table or a single ticket for this by contacting the organisers here.
