For The Love Of The Land II celebrates British growing
UK POTATO growers and suppliers have contributed to a book to be launched on July 11th.
In the new book, 'For the Love of the Land II', Colwith Farm in Cornwall, which specialises in growing premium quality potatoes, has shared a recipe for ‘Breakfast Potatoes’, while Parrish Farms has contributed a Shallot & Potato Cake, and both Holkham and The Bull Inn’s recipes include a potato purée.
The book is a sequel to the 'For the Love of the Land' book launched in 2020, which has had many successes including winning Best Cookbook in the Women & Home awards 2021.
Award-winning author Jenny Jefferies, a South Cambridgeshire-based farmer’s wife, compiled the books to celebrate British farming in all its hardship and glory. Alongside the recipes, members of farming families have shared experiences and stories. The author describes the contributors and their produce as "the backbone of the country’s food and drink" adding that the dishes featured make the most of local and seasonal ingredients.
