Demand for yellows and reds increases
RETAIL demand for yellow and red potatoes in the US has increased by between 10% and 15% over the past year, according to Associated Potato Growers Inc which packages Red River Valley potatoes for US buyers.
The grower-owned organisation represents 17 farmers in North Dakota and Minnesota and is one of the largest fresh red potato packing cooperatives in the Midwest, supplying red potatoes and yellow flesh potatoes to some of the nation's largest wholesalers.
