Consultation deadline on pesticide use approaching

THE UK Government has launched a public consultation into its forthcoming National Action Plan on Sustainable Pesticide Use.

The Soil Association has urged growers to contribute, saying the consultation comes at a critical time for UK farming as we leave the EU and forge our own agricultural policies.

The draft plan covers the next five years and aims to minimise the risks and impacts of pesticides to human health and the environment, while ensuring pests and pesticide resistance are managed effectively.

The existing National Action Plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides (the 2013 NAP) was adopted under the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations 2012.

The consultation closes at 11:45pm on February 26th 2021. To take part, visit the designated website here.
