Calling all UK growers and suppliers!
HAVE you entered the National Potato Industry Awards? Organisers are keen to hear your nominees for the 2021 Grower Award - either on behalf or yourself, or for another.
The inaugural NPI Awards were held in 2019 when the Grower Award trophy, sponsored by FMC, went to Andrew Francis, Farm Manager at Elveden Estate in East Anglia.
Andrew / Elveden were felt to have made a standout contribution to the industry. Much of Elveden's research work is open to the wider industry though the AHDB SPot farm project. It is a member of the McDonald’s Flagship Farmers Program, enabling and encouraging farmer-to-farmer sharing of sustainable practices and experiences, and is also a LEAF demonstration farm.
Douglas Russel received the 2019 'Highly Commended' award.
Warners Group Publications, which organises the award, wants to hear from you if you would like to put yourself forward, or nominate a UK grower, for the 2021 award, which will be presented on the first night of BP2021 in November.
You can enter online at https://www.potatoreview.com/national-potato-industry-awards or email Juliet Loiselle if you require guidance on what kind of qualities and information the judges will be looking for, and how to put together an entry - [email protected].
