Annual Spud Drives for charity
CHALLENGER Learning Center in Bangor, the US state of Maine, is holding an "annual Spud Drive" whereby it encourages people to buy a 50 pound bag of Aroostook County premium Russet Potatoes, donated by a local grower, to provide food donations for its local Salvation Army of Bangor.
Cost is $25 for a 50 pound bag but anyone buying two or more bags receives them for $20 a bag.
The annual spud drive takes place on November 20th from 12pm to 7.30pm.
Friends of the Children of the Klamath Basin is also holding its annual Potato Sale Fundraiser. The group has available 20-pound boxes of premium potatoes for $20 until all boxes are sold and the fundraiser begins on Saturday, November 7th, at Klamath Falls Subaru, where premium russet potatoes from sponsor CAL-ORE Produce can be picked up outdoors between 11am and 2pm
Potatoes also can be purchased and picked up at the Friends of the Children Clubhouse, at AmeriTitle and all three branches of Washington Federal Bank.
Friends of the Children also will deliver potatoes in the Klamath Basin.
