Agriculture sector in Jordan produces 1.7 million tons of vegetables per year
JORDAN'S Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Daoudia, recently announced that the domestic agricultural sector produces 450 tons of potatoes on a daily basis, enough to ensure the country’s needs.
En.royanews.tv reports that according to Daoudia, there are more than 12 geographical regions that produce agricultural crops across the kingdom. Cooling systems have been utilised to preserve and store crops to cover the nation's needs during periods of deficiency.
There are also attempts to increase the production period of other seasonal crops such as grapes, plums, peaches and apricots.
