SCOTTS TARGETS IRISH GROWTH WITH NEW DEALER APPOINTMENT

Scotts Precision Manufacturing is aiming for growth in Ireland following the appointment of a new dealer.

The designer and manufacturer of vegetable cleaning and harvesting equipment has followed up the appointment of Yorkshire & Humber and Russell Price Farm Services by adding Quaile Machinery in Ireland to its dealer network.

Operating from its headquarters in Co Dublin, Quaile Machinery will be promoting Scotts’ full range of Trinity haulm toppers, Evolution separators, Microlift fully mounted windrowers, Windrower conversion kits and replacement wearing parts.

Established in 2012 by Kenny Quaile, the company currently represents Pottinger, Kubota, Scanstone, Dewulf and Deutz-Fahr.

As well as selling Scotts’ full range of machinery, Quaile Machinery will be offering servicing and will be the sole importer of Scotts’ spiral roller segments which are suitable for use on GRIMME machines. These popular rollers are a proven and much more affordable replacement for the OEM part.

Since the banning of Diquat, Scotts has seen demand for its toppers double in the past year. Scotts’ managing director, Derek Scott, is expecting a further surge in orders for the 2021 season, with a lot of interest expected in the company’s latest additions to the range.

Scotts made its first topper - the Trinity 22B 2 row haulm topper - 14 years ago. In the last decade, the company has added five other models to compliment the range: which now comprises the Trinity 6000 six-row folding topper, the Trinity 22 Bulb Specific, the Trinity 30B which can work on three 36" rows or four 30" rows, the fixed Trinity 36B four x 36” rows and the fixed Trinity 54B 6 x 36” row version both with end tow kits.

The two latest additions to the range: the Trinity 36B four-row topper and the Trinity 54B six-row topper have recently been put through their paces in Scotland and Lincolnshire ahead of a launch in early 2021.

The Trinity 36B features dual drive and a split rotor with centre bearing and has been designed as an affordable high output machine for growers with less than 300 acres.

The Trinity 54B features the same style of drive and rotor as the 36B both come complete with road wheels and drawbar. It offers high output, at a lower price point of its flagship Trinity 6000 folding version, which is expected to be very popular.

“We are very excited to be part of the Scotts Precision Manufacturing distribution network,” says Kenny. “Scotts has a strong reputation for manufacturing high performance haulm toppers in the UK. We know they will be popular in Ireland and are looking forward to introducing our customers to the range. As well as selling Scotts Trinity Toppers, Derek and his team are highly experienced in the root crop sector and bring a wealth of knowledge in specialist harvesting and cleaning applications and will be giving us full training so that we can offer servicing to our customers.”

Derek is confident that Irish demand for his toppers will mirror that of England and Scotland. “We know that our topper is incredibly well engineered and offers several features not found on other machines. By having dealers in Scotland and the West of England, we’ve been able to meet the needs of growers who are not within easy travelling distance of our Lincolnshire factory. By working with Quaile Machinery, we are making it really easy for growers in Northern Ireland and Eire to not only to  buy our toppers but receive ongoing after-sales support as well. We’re really excited about this partnership!”
