Apprentice makes shortlist for national award.

STAR Refrigeration, which provides a range of freezing and chilling solutions for the storage of potatoes and potato-based products amongst its service offering, is celebrating after one of its apprentices was shortlisted for a UK-wide award.

Kelvin Clamp, a refrigeration engineering apprentice based at the company’s Derby branch, has been shortlisted for the Student of the Year award which will be announced at a ceremony on September 22nd at London’s Grosvenor House Ballroom. The winner will receive a cash prize of £1,000 along with a supercar driving experience. 

The award recognises an apprentice who has gone above and beyond their expected duties and has shown exceptional ability in the field of refrigeration, air conditioning and heating. It is a partnership between the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) and RAC Magazine, judged by a panel of industry experts.

Kelvin joined Star Refrigeration’s Operations team in Derby in August 2020 as a refrigeration engineering apprentice.
