AGXIO, a data science and machine learning specialist in the biotech, life sciences and agricultural sciences industries, has won the Leading Innovator in Applied AI & Machine Learning category in the Welsh Enterprise Awards 2021. 

The awards programme celebrates Welsh businesses that have played a role in driving the country’s economy and have pushed the envelope to reach new heights of success within their respective industries.

In-season command centre, Centaur, empowers agricultural producers to make real-time decisions and take effective, sustainable action. This single touch point for all information and decisioning analytics also interprets and recommends actions, realising the benefits of edge technologies, sensors, big data, and machine learning.

With a development centre at the Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus, (AIEC), and a research centre at the Cambridge Science Park, the company has already recruited additional technologists, data scientists and researchers in the Aberystwyth area and is currently looking to further expand its Welsh and international teams. At the recent official opening of the AIEC, Agxio CEO and Co-founder, Dr Stephen Christie, discussed with Wales First Minister Mark Drakeford the company’s plans at the AIEC.
