Online facility gives tailored response on skills and careers for UK potato industry.
THE new Chief Executive of The Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture (TIAH) has reminded growers that they can gain free tailored advice and practical tools to support their professional and career development via TIAH's new online skills and careers service.
The new online service was launched in May and nearly 250 users have signed up.
Stephen, who joined TIAH from BASIS earlier this month, said: “We are receiving a wide range of feedback around content and usability which is helping us to develop and refine the service ahead of launching TIAH membership. Many users have told us the service is useful in helping them find training and learning opportunities.”
Growers have been giving TIAH their thoughts on features including a training providers directory and course finder; resources to help employers and supervisors retain staff; and an upcoming section offering information and resources on mental health and wellbeing.
Stephen added: "The key to success is TIAH working in partnership with farmers, growers and industry partners so that, together, we can support skills development, careers and professionalism of everyone working in pre-farm gate agriculture and horticulture.”
