Awarding organisation offers child safety on farms certificate.

UK AWARDING organisation, Lantra, which develops and certifies training and qualifications for the land-based sector, has launched a free course which potato growers can take advantage of.

Aaimed at ensuring the safety of budding young farmers and those visiting farms who may not be familiar with the environment, the Child Safety on Farms Course covers the law and children, children and tractors, children and ATVs and children and falls.

It also covers other issues including child safety around equipment, and harmful substances, and the importance of having a farm safety checklist.
