Solana Group presents variety innovations

'GROWING innovation' is the motto this year for the international potato breeder Solana.

The owner-managed breeding company will present an new and established products at Potato Europe. In the food sector, the focus will be on the proven Queen Anne and the newcomers Lea and Jule, with which the company will present firm-cooking solutions for both direct marketing and packing.

In the French fries segment, the focus will be on the high-yielding, drought- and heat-tolerant variety Edison. The trade show highlights are rounded off, among others, by the young chip variety Odysseus, which, according to the Solana Group, ensures very good baking colors even after the end of the storage period.

Founded in 1905, the group has numerous locations, subsidiaries and holdings in countries including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland, Turkey, Chile and Eastern Europe, as well as breeding sites in Germany and the Netherlands. The company has set itself the goal of developing forward-looking breeding solutions in view of the rapidly changing climatic conditions, the reduction of pesticides and the skyrocketing prices of operating resources.
