Current geopolitics for international agri-food trade and the effect of EU’s Green Deal to be explored.

THE first Polish edition of the Europatat Congress, which takes place in Gdansk in June, will focus on the impact of current geopolitics for international agri-food trade and on the effect of EU’s Green Deal’s goals and new consumption trends for the potato sector inside and outside Europe.

Organisers, the Polish Potato Federation and Europatat, have now confirmed the main speakers.

The opening session of the Congress will feature Tigran Richter, President of Europatat, Tomasz Bienkoswki, President of the Polish Potato Federation, and a representative from the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development and the keynote speaker will be announced soon.

A panel composed by Antonina Skliarenko, President of the Community of Pulse Producers and Customers of Ukraine, Geoffroy d’Evry, President of NEPG (North European Potatoes Growers) and UNPT (Union Nationale des Producteurs de Pommes de Terre), Jörg Renatus, Managing Director of Europlant International, and Jarosław Wańkowicz, Supply Chain Director at Farm Frites Poland SA, will discuss how the changing geopolitical landscape is affecting agri-food trade in general, and potato trade in particular, in Europe and globally.

Finally, Berta Redondo Benito, Secretary General of Europatat, will close the event, which will be followed by a Gala Dinner at the Polish Baltic Philarmonic.
