A. L. Lee & Sons were among the first potato growers in the UK to buy a Dewulf self-propelled harvester. The decision, back in 2005, proved to be a sound one and the two-row Mega R3000 fulfilled the Belgian manufacturer’s promise, lifting crops near Ely in Cambridgeshire when trailed harvesters were struggling. The addition of a rubber track on the nearside rear axle helped keep their second Dewulf moving in the wet on some of the more challenging soils. Fast forward 12 years and they took delivery of two brand new machines in September.
